“WONDERFULLY WEIRD is a tribute to all those who do not live restricted lives due to the expectations of others. It is sewed and crocheted using yarn, lamé fabric, thread, lace doilies and canvas, most of it vintage, all upcycled.”

CMKapica is a self-taught artist who is inspired by the potential of an object to transform. She is especially intrigued by repurposing cast-off items into something extraordinary, creating hybrid textures, colors, forms, and space that involve and intrigue the viewer. Working with fibers, textiles, paint, wax, gemstones, wood, paper, jewelry and other found objects, these creations question societal tendencies to discard the old as irrelevant and useless.
